Crediton Foodbank

Crediton Food Bank is a registered charity, providing emergency food for local people in crisis in Crediton and the surrounding villages.

There are families in our area that are struggling to put food on the table as for people on low incomes, a sudden crisis – redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill, can mean going hungry. Every day, parents are skipping meals to feed their children and people are forced to choose between paying the rent and eating. This was even more evident during the pandemic and the rising costs due to global events.

The food bank is run by two, paid part-time coordinators and a team of amazing volunteers and operates from the Manse – next door to the Congregational Church in Crediton. Everyone referred is treated with the strictest confidence, by caring, non-judgemental volunteers.
Crediton Foodbank also offers people support such as financial advice, referring and signposting to other agencies, including counselling, and works closely with all agencies in the area including schools. It has been providing support to children normally in receipt of Free School Meals for several years now during holidays.

We are accountable to the Charity Commission and to our Board of Trustees.
